About Me

Hi my name is Jewel also known as The Former Fat GRL. I am a fitness coach that showcases the trials of a transformative fitness journey and how to overcome those trials. My goal is to inspire women to adopt healthier more active lifestyles to look good and feel great! I’ve struggled with my weight all my life and I have found the tools to overcome those struggles.

I’m an ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer since 2016 and I’ve been helping women find their way in fitness since 2008. I have a Bachelor of Arts in mass media arts with a concentration in public relations and a masters in business administration with a concentration and sports and entertainment management. Both obtained from Clark Atlanta University. I’m an island girl from Nassau, Bahamas that loves my family, food and exploring.

My fitness journey has exposed me to an amazing group of women worldwide. It is within this space that I get to teach, coach, lead and inspire. As a new mom and a mom that has experienced great loss, I’m able to reach women of all backgrounds but especially women looking to restore their bodies to normalcy after having children.

Before my children, I’d always struggled with my weight. With a lifestyle change, consistency and discipline, I had lost 100 lbs. After 2 kids, I gained it all back. Now on my second journey my goal is to look good and feel great. I’m currently 75 lbs down and still helping women find their path to fitness.
